On the afternoon of May 14th, 2022, Lakewood High School in St. Petersburg, Florida, hosted a youth fair and The Bay Battle of the Bands, a musical contest and competition performed on the Lakewood turf field. The event was free to the community. The Bay Battle of the Bands provided an opportunity to commemorate the youth and their talents.
A wide variety of groups helped make the event a success, including Marsalisi Law, The Getaway, Walmart Supercenter, Sam’s Club, DeBartolo Family Foundation, Caspers Company, Wilson Family Foundation, Beef ‘O’ Brady’s, Publix Super Markets, Tampa Bay Rays, and Ferg’s Sports Bar & Grill. Frank P. Marsalisi, of Marsalisi Law, donated $500 to help support and develop students and participants of The Bay Battle of the Bands. Mr. Marsalisi stated, “Supporting my community and especially the youth in the city that I grew up in is fundamentally important to me. I was born and raised in South St. Petersburg and was actually zoned for Lakewood High School. While I did not attend high school there, my younger sister is a proud Spartan. Seeing the effort and dedication these kids put into the craft to be better musicians is definitely inspiring. The success of the kids in our community is a direct reflection on all of us. I take pride in doing what I can for the the city I love and will continue to support our future leaders.”
